A Special Building Inspection is an examination of the plans, site, governmental permits of a property, typically performed before and during the process of construction and specified on the approved building plans.
A building inspection by a certified or licensed and qualified Deputy or City inspector is legally required to get final approval and ultimately a certificate of occupancy from the appropriate governmental agency for your construction project. It is a requirement which will occur during various stages of construction ever progressing during the construction process certifying that the construction adheres to the plans as written and designed by the building's Architect, Engineer, or Certified Professional in responsible charge. It adds to the longevity and safety of all modern newly built improvement.. In most developed countries new building adheres to the International Code Council (ICC) set of building criteria along with regional added governmental requirements.
The length of a building inspection can vary depending on the size and complexity of the inspection. Generally, initial inspections may take between 2-4 hours and longer when it involves large commercial construction projects and or large concrete pours that require continuous inspection during the pour.
